Life is full of busyness and blessings these days; just the way I want it. I feel like "my cup runneth over". Here is a smattering of what we have been "up to" lately:
A few months ago, we started taking the kids out on "dates". Initially, the kids each went with mom and dad together; next, they are going out with either mommy or daddy. (Note, the latter date is much less expensive, since you don't have to hire a babysitter for the other kiddos!) We keep it really simple: the first date, all three kids chose to go with us to "Critter Cabana", a great, local pet store and then get a treat afterward. Kylene chose to go swimming with me, and Spencer wanted to go to a park with only daddy. Here he is enjoying his one-on-one time with dad.

It seems like forever ago, but really it was just a few weekends ago, we ordered a big pile of bark and spent about seven hours out in the yard spreading it all. (There is a price to be paid for having such an amazing yard!) But, when we were done, there were no weeds and it looked marvelous, if I do say so myself! (And I didn't have to pull a weed for a whole week.:) Wow!) All the kids helped off and on, but Skyler was the clear winner: he is definitely our yard guy. He loves helping daddy do anything out in the yard and will follow him around for hours.
We started a new "repentance" spot in front of the fire place when the kids' get into arguments. As you can see from their body language, it is working quite nicely:). Love the clear cooperation going on here--not. Actually, it does help me have to resolve less conflicts...and they're giving each other a lot more hugs, even if it is "required hugging"!
The last week of school, Kylene got to bring home "Brown Bear Barney" one last time. It is their class bear which the Star Student gets to take turns bringing home for the night, then journal what they did with Barney. We loved that his name is Barney, and thought he definitely must have felt right at home.
Our good friends, the Haiders, came over while Amber went to the temple. They have four kids, basically the same ages as ours, and everyone gets along wonderfully. It was the first we'd seen them since our move, so it was a long overdue visit. The kids went non-stop for the 3+ hours they were here. Carly discovered this cute little guy in the backyard.
Andon (notice the lovely bruiser in between the nose!) and Dawson were darling together. They are about three weeks apart.
I just liked this picture of Kylene. Alyson (my sister) made this dress for her daughter, Alysha, for her baptism. Kylene loves how it twirls:).
We had a fun time (albeit a little cool) going to the Portland Rose Festival Parade. Kylene loved that she got to see so many "real princesses", aka Rodeo and Rose Festival princesses.
