More "Reacting"...

I thought I'd just give a quick update: Spencer woke up this morning MUCH worse--the reaction has spread EVERYWHERE and is bright red and pock mark looking, with more swelling in his legs. They look kind of bruised, actually. Looking at these pictures now, I wish this was as bad as it got. We took him to our pediatrician today and he put him on a prescription antihistamine that should help more than the Benadryl, but he said that the swelling might not peak until tomorrow! UGH. He also said it will probably last another four or five days. Spencer was in a lot of pain and VERY itchy today, so he mostly wanted to be held, but he has still been such a trooper. I just hope he can sleep tonight, he is so tired.

Thank you so much to my mom for coming down today so Kylene could still go to her tumbling class and have a friend over while I took Spencer to the doctor. It is so wonderful knowing family and friends are so willing to help when need be.

Tired of Sickness

Our family has all been through the "yucky's" the last several weeks. Kylene has had a bad cough for almost a month, which finally turned into the congestion and runny nose. Then Spencer, Kyle and I got it about two weeks ago. My cough is still deep and in my chest (can you bruise your uterus?--my stomach muscles and/or uterus hurt SO bad, I think I may have, if it's even possible!).

Spencer, poor boy, his cough and congestion turned into a sinus and ear infection. Ten days ago we put him on an antibiotic called Augmentin, which has Amoxicillin in it. Well, this morning, which should have been his last day on the antibiotic, he woke up with a rash on his face and really red ears that he wouldn't stop rubbing. I didn't think much of it since he has had a mild fever as well and I know that can be normal. But, as the day wore on (I kept him home from church fearing people would not be especially excited to see a rash baby in the row next to them), the rash spread to his entire body and kept getting worse. Finally, when his ears were really swollen and his legs were looking a purple-bluish hue, I thought this had to be more than just an allergic reaction to something, so we took him into Urgent Care. (Why do these things always seem to happen on weekends?) Of course, it is just a bad case of hives and it looks like he is allergic to penicillin. (This is hard for me to believe, but I guess I better come to terms with it.) So, we've got him on lots of Benadryl and hope it won't last the four to five days it can. He really is quite the sight, as you can see from these pictures (even though they don't really do it justice). Thankfully, he's acting mostly normal and is not contagious, although the lady with her two kids who is next to me in the checkout line at the grocery store won't know that!

I just hope this is the last of the "yucky's" in our house for a long time. It is getting old.

Can you tell what we've been talking about lately?

Kylene enjoys pretending she has a baby in her tummy, too, as you can tell from this video. I just hope this isn't what my tummy really looks like when our little one is kicking me:). It's always fun to see how it looks through a child's eyes, though.

Mommy's Big Helper

Spencer loves to help me unload the silverware from the dishwasher. He used to just pile it into the silverware drawer, making it look something like a tornado had struck, but lately he has even started placing them in their correct location. Man, I hope this helpfulness lasts!

Happy Birthday To Me!

Yesterday was the big 3-2 for me (dare I admit that?)! I am also 32 weeks pregnant this week, so I thought I'd show how I look at 32 years old and 32 weeks pregnant. Quite the basketball, wouldn't you say?

It was so fun to receive all the emails and phone calls from friends and family; thank you to everyone for remembering and thinking of me. My mom came down to visit us for lunch and Kyle spoiled me that evening when he got home from work. The night before he slaved for a long time to make me our favorite carrot cake with cream cheese frosting! (It really is the best!) Here is "the man" showing his hard work and the beautiful results!

And here we are enjoying the fruit of Kyle's labors.

First Digi-scrap Page

I finally did it! This is my first digitally scrapbooked page. I cheated a little, starting with a "quickie" page, but hey, you have to start somewhere, right?! I still have a LOT to learn.

Our Little Scriptorians

This morning while I was talking on the phone, Spencer and Kylene crawled up on our bed (it had been made, but oh, well!), climbed in, grabbed two Books of Mormon we had sitting next to our bed, and began "reading".

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to everyone! I hope yours was as exciting as ever.

Alee came over today and helped me design/create my new blog header (from scratch) in Photoshop. So fun and much easier than I thought. So I have to give a shout out to say "Thanks, Alee!"
