Fern Ridge Lake

This past week Kyle discovered Fern Ridge Lake in Eugene during a trip down there for work. So, Saturday after getting a few things done around the house, we headed down. It was a beautiful, sunny day, and a beautiful lake and park with a nice, shallow swimming area for the kids to play in. We enjoyed playing in the water, picnicing, playing on the playground, and people watching. You can tell today where we missed the sunscreen--oops!

My kiddos!

I just loved the way these pictures turned out. It's not every day you get a picture of all three of your kids looking at the camera at the same time!
Kylene (4 1/2), Skyler (3 months), Spencer (2).

Skyler is my 'happy boy'! He will still smile at you at just about any moment, and loves to laugh and look around. Definitely a social boy. But, he sure doesn't like to sleep. I used to call his 50 minute naps during the day his "cat naps", but now I'm lucky if I get a 30 minute nap out of him. Ugh. His night time sleep has been better than his day sleep, thankfully, but not super consistent. I've been trying to get him to sleep in his bassinet rather than his car seat, but he is not nearly as consistent at sleeping through the night as he was when he slept in his car seat. (The on-call pediatrician I saw said I can't have him sleep there anymore because his head is getting so flat on the right side. It was that or she recommended me seeing a specialist to get him a helmet!)

Smiles!
